Consultancy for the Construction of a Homepage for the National Laboratory Network on Biosafety and Biosecurity / 2018

Project Scope:

The objective of this consultancy was to create a comprehensive homepage for the National Laboratory Network on Biosafety and Biosecurity (NLNBB). This project aimed to develop a bilingual (Arabic and English) platform that would serve as a hub for information exchange, especially concerning standard documents.

Key Features Implemented:

• Public and Members-Only Sections: The homepage consisted of two key sections: a public area and a password-protected members-only section. The public section was designed to provide general information about the NLNBB to a wide audience. • Knowledge Repository: The members-only section acted as a secure knowledge repository, enabling authorized members to access and store pertinent data.

• Interactive Forum: Within the members' section, a forum was integrated to facilitate direct and interactive communication among NLNBB members.

• Usability and Compatibility: The homepage was designed with a focus on usability, ensuring that members could navigate and interact with ease.

• Compatibility was ensured across commonly used browsers on both desktop and mobile devices.homepage's availability and reliability.

• Hosting Service: The consultancy included the provision of hosting services for the homepage, guaranteeing its accessibility and performance.

Additional Services Provided:

1. Photo Shooting: High-quality photography was carried out to capture visuals relevant to the NLNBB's objectives.

2. Web Hosting: The consultancy encompassed web hosting services to ensure the homepage's availability and reliability.

3. SSL Certification: Security was a paramount concern, and thus, SSL certification was implemented to safeguard data transmission.

4. Responsive Design: The homepage was designed with responsiveness in mind, adapting seamlessly to various devices and screen sizes.

5. Training Sessions: Training sessions were conducted for NLNBB staff to empower them with the knowledge and skills needed to manage, edit, and add content to the website effectively.

6. Projects Handover: Upon completion, a comprehensive handover was carried out, including the provision of mockups, designs, photographs, a full website backup on a CD drive, and a technical PDF guide. This guide served as a reference for website management, editing, and data addition.
